Connecting 360

I refuse to pay £40+ for a forced wifi adapter for the 360 so atm I have an ethernet cable running across the hall.

If I buy a wifi access point, can I have it in my room connected to my 360 and it can then use the wifi network in my house?

I just plugged my 360 into my laptop via ethernet cable, then bridged the connection with my wireless one and I get live like that. Easy enough although you need to repair the bridge occasionally
