Connecting 6 monitors

I've decided to give my 1440p monitor the boot, and go with an eyefinity setup for my flight sim.

This is the first time i've had more than one monitor, and displayport seems to be the preferred method of connection (i think).

I have 3x 290x's and need to connect 6x 1080p@60hz monitors, what are the best ports to use? from searching it suggests 1x dp and 1x hdmi from each card, does this sound right before I go ahead and buy cables etc.

I would double check the Implications of driving monitors from non-primary cards on amd. As I'm fairly sure you need to have all display outputs come from the primary to have crossfire enabled. Amd do have some cards that are certified 'eyefinity-6' which is six display outputs on a single card.
