Hi all

Im planning on buying my first 5.1 surround sound speaker set - Logitech z506

now I just have two questions please

1. whats the best way of setting the 5.1 surround sound up on my motherboard - like which speakers plug into where

2. is the onboard sound card good enough for music/gaming or would you all recommend me buying an addional sound card ( don't really want to do to be honest but if I have to if anybody can recommend one that's not too expensive)

onboard sound should be good enough

you'll see the ports colour coded on the back of the pc,the jackplugs will also be colour coded on the speakers

then in windows sound, set to 5.1,its upto you to install/use realtek sound drivers or just use what Microsoft/windows installs (I prefer those tbh)

try onboard first, you can always add in a sound card later on

1) Just match the colours on the audio output and the speakers as they are all colour coded.

2) Good enough

will do thank you, be so much better then these silly 2 water filled speakers I have at the minute haha only have these as I was desperate and my m8 was selling them haha
