My laptop battery has died and a new OEM one is over £140, I have heard horror stories about 3rd party batteries. The laptop is over 5 years old so I don't really want to spend the money on a laptop that is end of life.

So I am in the market for a tablet of some kind.

I need it to be able to show portfolios and also control my 5D2 over USB or WiFi (either via EyeFi card or Canon wireless adaptor)

But - and this is key the tablet must have:

A large screen - the Samsung 10.1 seems ideal.
A good screen - IPS would be nice
Able to remote control the 5D2 - i.e. I look at the tablet and control the camera.

Has anybody managed this reliably if so details of your setup would be fab....

My searching leads my to believe that a galaxy tab 10.1 plus a usb dangle will work with a standard usb cable. I may well find out as that would be perfect.

Just to confirm that the Samsung 10.1 the OEM usb host connector and the 5d2 work fine with the dslrcontroller software available on the android market.

What I get now is live view on the tab plus the ability to focus, adjust exposure, look at the settings and activate the shutter - it's Fab!
