I have recently changed over to a new case and swapped all my parts over but when I try and connect the IDE HD it fails to boot.

Now i was running a dual boot system with XP and Vista, do you think that this is the problem? Its the Vista one that fails to boot.

I have not changed any parts other than swapping over to a new case other than a DVD drive which was IDE and now is SATA.

I have tried to set the HD as both master and slave but neither worked.

Thanks

What do you mean by Fails to Boot?

Are you given the boot menu option and then when you select Vista it crashes/restarts/hangs? Or does it just not pick up the drive?

Try removing the SATA drive and booting up, could be that there arent any SATA drivers installed, although unlikely

When i disconnect the IDE it runs fine as its picking up the other sata (which has xp on) but when I connect the IDE this gets to the POST screen where you can press F1 or delete to access bios. But it freezes there.
