K so I'm playing with the idea of getting a Mac mini and putting through my Samsung LE26R51BD, and seeing as I'm kind of a n00b I wanted to know how I would connect it and how it would look (would it be 720p?)

Also is anyone using a Mac mini already, are they any good and do they work well with the wireless keyboard and mouse?
cheers :)

Just bought a Mac Mini myself, I got the 1GB 1.83 Dual core model. I'm very pleased with it so far. The only trouble I had was getting it connected to the Internet. Oh, and the manual doesn't exactly explain much. If you've got problems you're pretty much on your own there. And I found I didn't get much help in shops either, it all goes quiet once you mention the word Apple.

I'm not using wireless mouse/keyboard but just connected a standard Microsoft set up and am having no problems. The on-board graphics, which I had a concern over, are no problem and play DVDs well. Not suited for games though.

Monitor wise I've got mine connected to a Philips 170C using an analogue connection and the picture is nice and clear.

And one really good thing is that it's pretty much silent. No more does my computer sound like a helicopter about to take off in a gale force wind.

I'd certainly recommend getting one if you want a powerful yet small and quiet computer.

interne was fine for me, just switched it on, entered my details a la windows first logon, and it picked up my wireless straight away :)

there is one, its a small white plug goes into USB port and has VGA in on it,
google usb to vga plug and theres 3rd party ones there :)
just wondered if you can dual screen with this

The problems I had with the Internet all seemed to stem from USB modems. I had a Zyxel USB ADSL modem from the ISP I'm with and whilst there were Mac OSX drivers the thing just wouldn't connect. Neither would a second USB modem I bought, though I'm not too sure if that wasn't faulty to start with.

Eventually I got a cheapish ADSL Modem/Router that connected via an Ethernet cable. Got it configured in the end and now I'm flying!

Not too sure how much of the problem came from poor documentation. I found a vast difference in the quality of docs between Windows (loads of help) and Mac drivers (very little guidance) . Also probably quite a bit of confusion due to my lack of understanding when it comes to modems. I understand quite a lot more now :) .

VGA at 1360x768 is definitely the way to go on these Samsung sets - it gets displayed in 1:1 super-sharp niceness. That resolution is similar to 720p (1280x720), but slighter higher.

DVI over the HDMI port gets cropped and scaled.

My parents have been running their Mac Mini through their Samsung LCD TV for about a year now. It uses VGA and really is very good :)
