Connecting a PC to a MAC using router

i have a pc running XP and a apple powerbook running OSX. I have a wireless router that i use to access internet on both computers. is it possible to network the PC and MAC? if it is how is it done?

I know you can kind of network them whereas you can view files on the PC from the mac osx. I think this is the site I used to tell me how to do it when my brother wanted to acccess files on my pc.
