Hi folks,

I was considering buying a set of Aego M's and an X-Fi Extreme edition. I can only see RCA phono cable connections

for input on the back of the Aego Subwoofer.

As far as I know, the outputs on the soundcard are the standard 3.5mm jacks and cables.

My question therefore is how do you connect the X-fis to the Aego? Is there a supplied cable that is 3.5mm jack at one end and RCA phono at the other?

Can anyone help ?

Cheers,

Ken

I have the xtreme music card and it wasnt supplied with converters just the card and driver cd. i suppose you might be able to find some from everyones much loved bay.

I am about to order them myself. I don't have enough room for a proper 5.1 setup for the PC. I actually already have a logitech 5500 setup on the other side of the bedroom hooked up to my 32" Samsung LCDTV/Xbox 360/DivX player, with the surrounds on either side of the beds headrest. So as you can appreciate another set of surrounds on the other side of the room for the PC would look...ahem...crazy. So neat 2.1's it is.

A few questions. Hope you don't mind.

1. Is the sub nice and compact (I hope so), and are the speakers sufficiently powerful for gaming ? Or would I be better served by the Logitech Z-2300's ?

2. I will be using them with a X-Fi. Does this combo give a nice pseudo surround effect with the CMSS surround mode.

Check out this thread for a bit more info on them including screenshots of the sub. Can't find my camera for the life of me to take one for you.
I think its pretty compact myself considering the amount of base it can output.

Thier more than powerfull enough for games, I,ll be surprised if you ever had to turn them up past 4% of the total volume level as they can go very loud if needed :)

They give a nice affect with the CMSS surround mode I think personaly and the 24-bit Crystalizer works nicely with mp3's.

Actually the DM33 while a micro system comes very close to entry level hifi, well at least the DM31 did which I had a couple of years back and it wasn't far off my Meridian/Arcam/Mission hi-fi setup I owned 10 years before, as evidenced by all the awards the DM31 won. Still the Aego speakers look really tidy and I can't imagine those Denon speakers are shielded.
