Hello all,

Bit of a long shot here but here goes. I'm currently in halls of residence and use a Netgear wnr200 router as a wireless access point (University/ask4 rules) with my computer connected directly by Ethernet and my Xbox 360 and printer connected via wireless. All have an internet connection.

I'm trying to connect my PC to my Xbox360 through Windows media center - Add extender. I am able to connect to the Xbox 360 with no issues if i connect it to my PC using an Ethernet cable, the issue here being a long cable trailing across the floor.

So i decided to connect to the Xbox 360 through the network (as i have at home before) but this is where it goes wrong. I'am unable to see the Xbox 360 on the network nor connect to it using Windows Media Center. I'am able to see the wireless printer on the network and connect to it.

I have checked several services on Windows 7 to make sure they have started, are discover-able and i'am on a home group network. I have checked the routers port's and Upnp settings which seem to be fine and gone through the Xbox360's settings several times.

I'm running out of ideas on what may be causing the problem, my current train of thought must be the router having to act as a wireless access point may be causing the issue? (I do have to set a static IP every time i wish to connect to the router then set it back to auto)
It seems odd to me though that i am to connect to the printer through the network and unable to see the Xbox360.

I hope this makes sense and before i give up all hope on this - i was wondering if anyone else had any ideas or was able to tell me this is currently not do-able ?

Thanks,

Kaelsin
