Connecting Desktop to Laptop without username

Hi ,

I have set my laptop C" drive up for sharing and I can comect from my desktop to the laptop as I have a password on my laptop to log in.

I do not use a password to start my desktop and when I try to go into my desktop from my laptop it ask me for a user name and password which I do no have. Both machines have Vista.

Is there a way round this without password protecting my desktop startup?

If you are talking about file sharing, then follow this guide for instruction on how to set up simple file sharing on vista (no password).

If you wish to use Remote Desktop then the user must have a password. A dirty work around is to use autologon.exe to log your self into the desktop automatically. http://news.softpedia.com/news/Windows-Vista-Autologon-37745.shtml
