Hi, I just got a wireless router today and thought I might as well see if I can connect my DS to it.

Im getting error code 52100

Connected to access point but unable to connect to the server. Confirm connection settings and internet availability.

The game is Mario Kart DS
The router is Belkin F5D9630

check the router is set to the right encyrption for the DS (IIRC it's WEP rather than WPA), and that they are both using the same password?

Im afraid I dunno how you set the encryption and i haven't got any passwords at the moment :(

aha, i think i've found it

Disabled <- Currently
64bit WEP
128bit WEP
WPA/WPA2-Enterprise(RADIUS)
WPA/WPA2-Personal(PSK)

is what's on offer, which one do I go for?

If its disabled then it shouldnt stop the DS connecting

yeah, I just read up that it shouldn't, it must be something deeper. Perhaps my router simply isn't compatible because i've tried turning the firewall off and that hasn't helped either

My GFs been getting that message this afternoon. I'm thinking it's possibly an issue with te Nintendo servers as it's previously worked fine on my router and no changes have been made.

I've noticed some incompatibility with some routers with the wireless settings. There's usually a selection between 802.11g, 802.11b, or 802.11b/g. Forcing 802.11b (this is what the DS uses afaik) worked for me in these cases.

I have a Belkin F5D8630 and the only way i can get my DS to work with it is to turn the ACK mode off. Im not sure if you model has an ACK mode but i guess its worth a try.

Go to your router homepage and go to the channel and SSID section. If theres an ACK option turn it off and try again.

Luke
