Hi all,

My Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Fatality arrived today, got it all installed and working but I've got some questions about the best way to connect my Inspire 5.1 Digital speakers to it.

Currently they are connected over 2 x 3.5mm jack leads (into the Front and Rear analog inputs on the back of the amp). However, running the speaker test wizard I don't get any sound from either the centre speaker or the sub, just the 4 satellites.

It seems odd that there are only 2 x jack inputs, for front and rear- no centre or sub. So.... how should I connect my speakers and have all my speakers working? I have a digital optical lead if that might help?

Also, what mode should be selected on the amp- I have a choice of 'CMSS Movie', 'CMSS Music', 'Fourpoint/5.1 DIN' (currently selected) or 'Stereo'.

Please help!! Thanks :)

To get 5.1 sound using digital speakers u will need to connect them using coax or optical inputs. This will let u play dvds in 5.1 if u have an external decoder. However u will still get only 2 channel audio in games and music.

You used to be able to connect then through the DIN creative made but on the x-fi this does not work.

Tanke a look at these links.
