Connecting Iphone to new pc

Hi just wondering what settings I need to play around with me before I connect my iphone as I am scared it will wipe all the apps I payed for.
Also can anyone recommend a good converter to use to put movies onto the phone

been looking for a converter for ages mate but no luck, im not sure about the apps but i dont they would be wiped.

handbrake is pretty much easiest and best convertor..
