I want to get some new RGB fans. My current ones are Corsair ML120 fans that only have 4x LEDs and they're a few years old now, so why not...

Got my eye on the Arctic P12 A-RGB fans which reddit tells me are cheap and decent performers... what I don't know is how I'll control the RGB? I need 10 fans for my build. 3x 360 rad, 1x exhaust

I currently have a corsair commander pro with the associated LED hubs, so it's easy... whack the ML120's into the commander and the RGB cables into the hubs and plug everything into the motherboard. Job jobbed.

With the arctic fans I can't use the commander without some expensive adapter cables (to convert from a 3 pin A-RGB cable to the Corsair connection). Getting them to play nice as PWM fans is easy but the RGB aspect is alluding me... For PWM I plan on connecting all the fans into a PWM fan hub and powering it with SATA connector as it's cheap (£8) and reliable.

I'm hoping you guys can help... this is my plan. Running in an O11D XL (original I know)...

Daisy chain together 3 fans on each radiator. 9 fans would output 3x A-RGB cables which I can plug it into a 3-way A-RGB splitter... which then goes to a header on the motherboard.

The exhaust fan, CPU, GPU and distro plate can also be plugged into a 5-way A-RGB splitter on the second header, leaving a spare.

Would this work?

Yes thats the way to do it. Dump the corsair commander pro and just use the motherboard rgb software.
