Hi all,

Ive just bought some new fans and an akasa pro fan controller for my case and im hoping to connect 2 fans to each channel/adjuster dial. Is this possible, and how do i do it? The fans ive bought are all 3 pin, but i dont know how i go about connecting them together. Hopefully there are adapters or something that i can buy.

Thanks

Mike

i would assume you would need some sort of adapter of some kind to split the power into 2x3pin instead of just the one that is normally provided. not sure where you would get one but guess you can google it.

edit: just googled "3 pin fan splitter cable" and its like a pound per splitter from various places.

np, yea that should do the job. Will actually need to get some myself for my fan controller eventually when i get more fans.

Check how much load you motherboard can handle on each header first! Check how much load the fans will draw in Amps, and check how much your mobo can take. After a recent discussion with ASUS tech support, they strongly recommended me not to use an adapter to use 2 fans on the same header.

But, they will always be conservative. Just check the loading on each header, you should be fine.

I currently use 5 of theese sharkoon se 2000 rpm fans,

All of them are ran off an akasa junior fan controller,

I have them set up with 2 fans on channels 1 and 2 via splitters, and a single fan on the 3rd channel. On that particular controller each header can run a maximum of 10watts, and the fans i use consume 2.16watts each, so its well within operating tolerances.
