I bought a headset today that comes with the two connections (headphone and microphone) whose plugs can go about a maximum of 6 inches apart. I have an Audigy 2 ZS 7.1 sound card which has the following ports: Digital Out, Line In, Microphone In, FL/FR, RL/RR, FC/SW, FireWire Port

I have (I believe) the Logitech Z-550 5.1 speakers, which have a controller device that has a Headset and Line In or Out (Not sure which, has the single musical note as the label). Typically I'd plug my Microphone in the card's Microphone slot and the Headphone on the controller's slot while using a separate set of headphones and microphone, but these are about 3 feet apart, which is about 6 times farther than I can get the two cords apart.

Both the microphone and headphones work plugged into these ports (tried each separately)

I also have the K8N Neo2 Platinum motherboard, for reference.

How should I go about plugging this in?
