I just managed to put my PC and Xbox together. I have loads of videos i would like to stream onto my xbox. I'm currently using WMP11 and adding music/video files onto the shared folder but its not picking all of the video files.

I know back in December there was an update for the 360 to play DivX videos but how do i get my 360 to play more videos. Or is it a case of me converting my files into DivX?

Im sure your pc requires the right codecs for them to be added to libairy

Try downloading the K-Lite Mega Codec pack then re-adding them. :)

What you need is Windows Media Connect, works a treat, although now discontinued.

MSN/E-Mail in trust if you want ti sending over (freeware)

Windows Media Player > Library > Media Sharing > Xbox 360
Then Windows Media Player > Library > Add to Library

As Gordon Ramsey would say...DONE! :D

I have done all of that and i'm using both versions of WMP11 and Media connect.

However i'm trying to add different video files from the my hard drive and my Xbox just doesn't seem to want to play them....Nothing shows up on the play list.

it's going to depned on the file types.

If you can see some and not others it suggests the ones you can't see are not compatible with the 360. Are they .mkv's? they won't play

You are quite right and basic mpegs will not play either unless you are using Media Center PC, if its just from the 360 dashboard then they will be seen by WMP11 but the 360 wont play them.

One I fell for when trying to set mine up was I didn't change the video source.
So...
Media > (x) Change Video Source > Select PC
(as it's defaulted to your xbox, so no pc files will show)
