Right, if i output a video/audio signal form my blueray player to my onkyo 507 amp via HDMI, can i then output the video in Composite form to use on my CRT (NOT HD) tv i nwant to connect it to? We cant afford to go HD yet and good Bluereay players cost the same as DVdD players near enough so i'm trying to avoid two purcahses.
Cheers,
Josh

It depends if your Onkyo does video down-conversion from HDMI to composite. Go read the manual :)

You could also just connect the BR player straight to the TV and send the sound to the amp over HDMI?

The Blu-ray player I have is the Panasonic BD60. It has Component Video Out/Video Out and has Digital Audio Out via Optical. So something like that should work, with video straight to tv and audio via optical to amp.

I'm not sure about AV amps down-converting due to HDMi licencing, but the 507 definately won't have it as it doesn't even up-convert.

You can try this cable to connect the BR player to your TV.I think the Sony BDP 300 has an S-video and a component out.

S-Video to Scart Cable
