connecting phone to laptop.

when at home I play music on my desktop pc using winamp and have it setup so my android phone can connect and operate winamp like change song etc using wifi connected to my home wireless router.

now I want to do the same thing when I go camping in the motorhome. my laptop stays in the motorhome running winamp with a bluetooth speaker out side and my phone has an app that connects to winamp so for my phone to connect to the laptop via wifi could I just connect a wireless router to the laptop and then connect my phone to the wireless router just like I would at home.

No reason why not. Couldn't you just connect the bluetooth speaker to your phone?

I have now got connectify hotspot pro software and it does want I want so I do not need a wireless router.

That was going to be my next suggestion, most android phones can be a hotspot!

2 things to watch. Make sure your laptop doesn't go downloading updates, that will hammer your data! The wi-fi hotspot does tend to hammer the battery life. You also can't connect to a wi-fi network while you are a wi-fi hotspot, if that's an issue.
