I would like to move my PS4 from the living from TV to the PC room connected to one of my PC monitors. Audio will be done via optical cable.

My monitor's are Dells that have 1x DVI, 1x VGA, 1x DisplayPort, several USB sockets.

Both DVI's are obviously taken. Is the best way of connecting the PS4 to use a HDMI to VGA convertor? I guess this will downscale the PS4 to VGA quality? I've seen some HDMI - VGA upscalers, but they seem to be £50-70 :/

Can the DisplayPort be used? I don't have much experience with this type of connection.

I'm basically looking for the cheapest way to get the best quality.

Thanks guys

Ok, well after some research it looks like a HDMI to DisplayPort adaptor might be the way forward

Actually no, I think that only works the other way :( argh, annoying!

Daft question, but can you not connect the pc using the display port and then free up the dvi for the PS4?

I've got my PS4 on a Dell monitor but that thankfully has an HDMI port. :)

If I have 1 monitor connected via DVI-D and one via DP, will there be a noticeable difference in quality? If not, that's probably the answer (using a HDMI>DVI adaptor), cheers :)
