sorry for the stupid question, but when connecting case to mobo there is an arrow next to one pin on each connector I've took this to mean that means pin 1 (usually +) am I right or have I got things back to front?

and while you are here I have a plug from PSU that attaches direct to PCI-e card, do I also need to connect a molex to the plug for PCI-e on the mainboard too?

thanks

The buttons are (IMHO) the most annoying part of building a rig. The good news is that you can't actually break anything - as the power buttons work either way around and the LEDs only work one way (and just don't work the other way!).

You're mobo and case manuals should give you the correct pin locations - I always align the red cable with + and black with - which on a number of mobos means the arrows are facing outwards..

No idea about PCIe GPU power... mine doesn't have one..

I used to think that too and always ended up with none of the case lights working but the power and reset still worked. I think the arrow means "-". Like pcAnywhere said though, mainboard won't be damaged so just try it out and see.

Not sure about the PCI-e on the mainboard bit, mainboard manual should tell you though.

Aint all the '-' ones white though, so you can't get them mixed up.

The molex connector on the motherboard is for if your running Crossfire/SLi (2x cards), so if your not running 2x cards, then it doesn't need to have a one connected, just connect up your 6-pin to your card. :)

I know how it feels mate, it's the most disheartening thing about building a rig, all the rest is easy!
