im going to be using my x-530's seeing as theyre lying around dormant...they normally hook upto a computer and have leads as they are surround sound, how will i hook them upto the 360?

do they have optical input, only way to get dts if not you will need to get an adapter from red/white cable to the cables going into pc. Thats the way i have my old logitech speakers set up sound great no dts though :(

You can only hook the 360 up to those via 2 channel stereo, as they have no digital decoder for surround sound. You can pass the 360 through the line in on your PC to the speakers, but it'll still be 2channel stereo.

so i can only connect my green cable or one of the 3 cables? and it will give me 2.1 sound instead of 5.1?

i dont mind that but how will the cable connect? do i plug it into the 360 or what?

What inputs do the speakers have?

Have they got independent Left and Right inputs, or just the one input for the pc.

Also going OT, but can the 360 do DTS? I've got mine upstairs at the moment so can't test it but I've heard it just outputs DTS as normal 5.1

its go:

t one for the central speaker
one for the 2 side speakers
and one for the back 2 speakers

Hi, i bought the Creative Decoder DDTS-100 which can connect up to 8 multimedia things at once (xbox, ps2, pc, etc) Does the job for me with no problems.

Dude, you need to remove that link. Im pretty sure your last post here got deleted for swearing or something, might be worth reading the FAQ before you post again.

Right, I had a very quick look on the Logitech website, and found that they do an adaptor which converts 2 rca to the 3 surround cables that your speakers use.

So basically you would plug the red and white plugs from the 360 into this adaptor and then have the 3 cables going to the speakers coming out of it.

I know OcUK is being very strict on competitors at the moment but I can't find a better link, and it's the US website so you can't really order from it.

This is the adaptor:

It's not proper surround sound though (Dolby Digital) as your using a stereo input. All you'll be getting is something like Pro Logic.
