Connecting the PSU to the motherboard

Hello

I have a 1000W Toughpower PSU connected to a Rampage 2 extreme motherboard. The PSU has both an 8 pin CPU connector and a 4+4 pin CPU connector. I connected the PSU to the motherboard using the 8 pin connector, since i am running a quad core CPU. However, this means that the 4+4pin remains unattached within my case.

This is my first build and I have not yet switched on the new machine, just incase I make a serious mistake! However wouldnt it be dangerous to leave my 4+4pin connector unattached whilst starting up my machine? Or would i need to attatch it somewhere else?

Its fine to leave it disconnected if you don't need it. Just remember your 24 pin connector aswell.
