Ok for instance I want to connect to the c:\ of a pc called "trickery" I would go to start and run and type in

\\trickery\c$

Now it would probably ask me for a username and password as a popup......

Is there anyway to provide the username and password in the "\\trickery\c$" (if that makes sense). Im looking for something a bit like connecting to an ftp session through IE (eg ftp://username:[email protected]:21)

loose the front of that and type it in IE, should work.

just tried, no it doesn't.

just map a network drive and set it as non persistant then delete it when your done.

Unfortunately thats not an option at the moment :(

At the moment I will be connecting to lots of machines at once and I will run out of drives to map :(
