I'm gonna buy a wireless printer as a present for a friend who's I owe lots of favours. His system is connected to a wireless router via ethernet.

My question is - can he connect to a wireless printer with this setup or does he have to disconnect the ethernet and use a wireless dongle instead ?.

You connect the printer to the wireless router and it is accessable to all computers connected to the network. Wired or wireless.

Ok, I connected everything yesterday and I have problems. The Vista laptop which wirelessly connects to the router sees the wireless printer fine and can print to it no problem. The XP desktop which is connected to the router via network cable cant see it no matter what I do.

It cant be the router as the laptop works and it cant be the printer itself it works fine with the laptop via the router.

Any ideas ? anyone got a similar setup ?
