I have a set of 2.1 desktop speakers I use day to day which connect to my soundcard. I also viewing films etc on a main screen and prefer to use my amp & speakers for this. To achieve this, I have to disconnect the cable which would goto my PC speakers, and replace it with the one going to my amp. The position of the PC makes this a bit of a pain though, is there a way I can leave everything connected and choose within windows perhaps which output to use?

You could use one of these perhaps...

A 3.5m mini jack splitter. Then when you want to watch movies, simply turn the Amp on and turn off your desktop speakers.

Or, if you wish to use your desktop speakers, simply turn off the amp.

That way you shouldn't have to scramble around the back of the PC swapping the cables over for the soundcard.
