I've just started to rent a house in Oxford and the area is able to get BE unlimited, i thought fantastic i know the service is good and i use it at home. The only people standing in the way of me and my lovely internet speeds are BT.

I've tried to call on numberous times to find out the status of my order and all they can do is divert me to another number that NEVER picks up the phone, they say they'll call back but they never will and i'm starting to wonder if i'm doomed on ever being a "valued customer" in the BT camp!

So, has anyone got any advice on actually getting any details on my order? I've tried all kinds of tricks by lying through my teeth with other departments, i just get put through to the same "no ones home" number.
/rant over.

I don't understand. Are you trying to connect to Be or BT?
Correct me if I am wrong, but BT have nothing to do with Be... so how are BT stopping you from connecting to Be?

i'm guessing he means getting new line put in or an existing one activated. :)

the trouble is with bt is they are too big and you are nothing to them. and with phone lines, they have you over a barrel. what else can you do.....

I need the BT line to connect to Be, but BT are just a pain in the arse!

So really do i just have to hang tight and wait for these idiots to contact me?

Hmm, the last time I called BT to get my phone line enabled in my house and an account set up in my name, my line was fully functional within 2 hours of calling.

Are you trying to get a new line installed or an existing line enabled?

you waiting for them to put ADSL on the line ?

if so, then pretty much yeah

just got to sit back and wait for BT to do it. My previous homeowner already had ADSL on our line, but they didnt cancel the existing package. So when i called up to order BE, i was told "You'll need a MAC code from your current supplier to come to be" and i was like "who'se my current supplier" and the reply of course was "im afraid i cant tell you that" So it was a phone call to BT that was required. At least i got an answer, but they didn't take the previous package off for 14 days

how long you been waiting now ?

I'm just waiting for a phonecall back to get an existing line connected, its been 4 days now :(

I do think i talked to india though, so i might just replace the order and see what happens then.
