Connecting wireless modem/router to current modem

Hi all,

We have a Netgear wireless modem/router that we used when at uni. At home we have cable broadband (virgin) that uses a motorola modem.

The cable entering the modem is the screw-in aerial type connection, and ethernet out to the PC. Is it possible to ethernet out to the netgear modem/router so that we can connect 2 laptops to the same service using the wireless function of the netgear?

This would effectively mean we have 2 modems running in series, as the Netgear is a modem/router combo. Is this going to be possible or will it just not work and/or create conflicts?

Is it an alternative to somehow change the aerial type connection which enters the house to ethernet and use the netgear alone? Is there an adapter to do this, perhaps?

Won't work mate as the router will need an ethernet WAN port which the ADSL router won't have. You'll have to buy a standard wireless router such as the WRT54G (google it).

My bad, it's not a modem/router combo at all, it's just a router, which plugs right in no probs! doh!

Oh well, it's sorted now anyway, lol.
