Connecting Xbox to pc

I didnt know what forum part this should go in at it could go in console, games or hardware so please move to where it needs to be :)

I aquired an Xbox but have no tv and no games to test it, can I get a lead to connect it to my computer screen and amp and if so where and how much?

I've tried it on a tv but not sure if it needs to be tuned and and have a game in it to work. So today im buying a cheapo pre-owned game

I think its the Xbox-VGA converter i need then. Gilly, the only mate i knew with an x-box sold the complete package when he got a 360. Everyone else has PS2 or before that. pre-owned wont be much more than £5 anyway, if that (maybe)
