well just prepping info on x fire how do you connect them obviously put both cards in connect power and bridges

but what card how how do you connect the DVI cable if using just a single monitor

do you just use the top card or bottom or do you need some kind of 2 to 1 dvi adapter?

Top card in either socket.

plug card one in pci-e 1
plug card two in pci-e 2
plug DVI cable into top card
plug DVI into monitor
Then enable in CCC then x fire should work


was it the old ATi cards that had to use a split dvi cable?

Yes, with newer cards you only need to use 1.

All your steps are correct also. To be sure it's working correctly download GPU-Z (assuming you don't already have it), and check to make sure CrossfireX is working.
