This has been happening for a while now, doesn't really affect normal internet browsing but now that I'm playing EVE I care a bit more. Anyone know why it happens, my comp is connected to a cable router which is plugged into an ethernet socket in the wall(uni connection). Is there anyway to rectify this? Thanks for the help.

It's probably set up to release the DCHP every hour.
I suppose you could contact your network admin, and ask if this is the case?

It's a sitecom "broadband xDSL/Cable Router" model DC-202. I don't think it's anything to do with the connection as my housemate's works fine. It could be the router. I can get access to the settings via the IP thing, I''ll check the DCHP settings

My router used to do this, started for no apparent reason. Updated the firmware on it now all is well.
