Hi - I'm (still) using Eclipse and am currently losing my DSL connection at least once a day. I'm also getting a ridiculous number of down FEC errors (can be ~9 million in an evening). I can't see that it's my hardware as I've swapped router/cable over and the connection is still as flaky.

Is this just as simple as binning Eclipse, been thinking of moving to Zen for some time, just been too lazy to do so. Hopefully it's not a BT issue, although some of the internal wiring in my house looks a bit poor.

Stats are:

Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 448 / 5,888

Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 12.0 / 19.5

Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 24.5 / 46.0

SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 18.0 / 6.0

One thing I have spotted is that SNR seems to slowly drop during the evening, from an initial sync at 6.5/6 down to 5/4.5

Anything to do with DSL losing sync has nothing to do with your ISP, only your phoneline and BT.

Try a new DSL filter and connecting the router directly to the master faceplate.

If all else fails ask your ISP to ask BT to raise your SNR margin.
