I'm just wondering were I should start looking for the culprit for my internet connection dropping.

The dropout occurs frequently when the phone rings and sometimes rarely when the phone doesn't ring. and lasts for a minute or two.

This is not the cordless phone interfering with the wifi because I maintain connection to the router throughout, it's adsl connection to the router that drops. I've tried 6 different adsl filters.

I contacted my ISP (Xilo) last year some time but they said nothing was wrong with the line and (obviously) they could ping me.

Thanks.

Irrespective of what your ISP has said you may still have a line fault.

You’ve hopefully removed any chance of having a faulty adsl filter.

How complicated is your phone wiring? Have you tried using the master socket test socket (assuming you have one)?

Have you tried using a different phone?

Have you performed a quiet line test?

I think it's a fault on the line tbh.

Tried lots of filters but no help.

Not sure how to do a quiet line test.

Not tried a different phone, but again the phone doesn't need to ring for it to happen. For example, I just lost my net for 10 minutes without a phonecall just now. Router was fully working, just no adsl signal / internet in.

In my rage I disconnected the sky box from the phoneline to see if that helps.

Oh, as for phone wiring, this is the only socket in the house.

Thanks :).
