Connection issues

So I just got a new custom gaming PC and my wireless connection is being terrible and for some reason I cant connect wired (I have a direct line from the telephone wire) as it wont find the network when the cable is plugged in.

to type this ive had to use my laptop as there are no issue's on this, but the pc is downloading at KB instead of its normal 40mb+.

Any help would be great.

(I'm a massive simpleton when it comes to PC)

You aren’t even going to give us a clue about the make/model of the PC or its components?

Your pc has a direct line from the telephone wire?
