Right even though i move into my flat in 2 weeks id still like some recommendations on how to fix this for my parents.

basicly my modem/router status page looks like this:

Item: :Downstream: :Upstream
SNR Margin: :9.2: :22.0: dB
Line Attenuation :41.6: :31.5: dB
Errored Seconds :1752: :20:
Loss of Signal :4: :4:
Loss of Frame :0: :0:
CRC Errors :728: :4:
Data Rate :2848: :448: kbps
Latency INTERLEAVED INTERLEAVED

sorry thats a bit messy but i think you can see the basic jist of whats going on, thats after 24hours of it being on (my pc hasnt been on for a lot of that) it gets a lot worse on the error seconds and loss of signal as well

can microfilters die? its only really been since i changed to ADSLmax service that its been doing this, could it just be a line thing that im stuck with or could it be something here?

also is it normal for the data rate to slowly drop the longer the modems left on? once i restart it it goes back up to around 3400kbps

cheers for any help

EDIT: second question, seeing as ill need a new modem soon as im leaving this one here for my dad to use what could you recommend? i was looking at the netgrear DG834 one but im open to suggestions

any simple way of testing filters?

would plugging them in one by one with the phone and modem plugged in and then turning the phone on disconnect the adsl if one didnt work?

cheers for the tips

slight problem there tolien i cant garuntee any definately work :p ive got quite a lot of them though so ill give a few of them a go, alternatively i might buy a few more and then i should be (almost) garunteed that they work, suppose there only cheap
