I live in a new(ish) build 3 storey house. My new Sky wireless router (ADSL) is at the back of the house (in the lounge) on the middle floor. My Sky box is connected by ethernet cable for Anytime+, etc.

My desktop PC is on the top floor (also at the back of the house) in my office. It is specced as per my sig, and includes a new TP-Link TL-WN851N 300Mbps PCI wireless internet card.

Having installed with no problems the card updated my Windows OS, MSI Afterburner, crap cleaner and antivirus package after not being connected to the www for over a month (moved house, long wait for connection, etc).

If I try and load any page though, bar google (such as nvidia for driver updates) it cannot load the page at all or is very very slow. The updates mentioned D/L'd briskly.

Any ideas? My laptop works fine (speedily) at the desk where my desktop is placed (although it is on the desk and not under it like the antennae for the wireless card).

What signal strength are you getting with both the desktop and laptop? inSSIDer is great for this purpose.
