Ok I had it hardwired to my router.
Decided to move the kids room and so far don't have the time/energy to run the cable to the new router location so I'm wireless for the moment.
I had the PS3 running wireless for months beforehand.
Now I'm getting really strange effects.
Last week when I went to network connections and test settings it can find the router but cannot give me an IP address (WEP key is correct and everthing is setup like before) no matter what I do I don't get an IP address.
So I give up yesterday I switched it on to watch a dvd i found it had auto signed in to PSN (GREAT!) however, I could not get any webpages to display and the PSstore was very slow. Whilst watching DVD I got a message that media server was now discoed then that I'd lost a network connection. The rest of the night nothing
Now I suppose you are shouting router problem but no. I can access the net easily from my PSP whilst sitting on my Sofa which is further away from the router than the PS3 by a good 4 meters I also have a laptop in the room which connects perfectly using wireless G to the router the problem seems to be my PS3 but it's only started since I moved from wired to wireless. It worked great beforehand.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated (of course the most obvious would be to rewire it
) but perhaps someone has read of this prob elsewhere and can give some tips?
