Connection woes

I'm really getting hacked off at Vista at the minute. For a year or so Vista worked flawlessly for me, then for the last couple of months it's got a bit messed up.

Basically what happened was that I could rarely connect to my wireless network in vista. I could usually resolve this by booting into xp and connecting to the network, then restarting and booting into Vista which would then for some reason connect fine.

This was a PITA but I thought I could put up with it for a few weeks until I did a fresh install. So last night I formatted and I've still got the same problem:mad:.

I had to take my whole system downstairs so I could connect to the network wired (as linksys don't want to make any 64bit drivers for Vista, which is nice). I did this, got it all up and running, got all the latest updates, and managed to get my wireless adapter working. I then unplug it all bring it upstairs and it connects ok. Great. Until this morning when I turned it back on and cant connect.

I don't think it's the router as XP works fine, as do other computers in the house, and I dont think it's the adapter as in Vista it can see other networks that are normally present, but not mine.

I have no idea what the problem is but I'm getting really hacked off with it. Does anone know what could be the problem? I'm hoping there's just a setting that I can change but I have no idea what that wonderous setting might be.

Thanks for any help.
