Connections - new game

Oh just what we need. Another word game thread on the first page everyday. What's that 4 now?

Do these forums not have a feature to hide individual threads?

You can select to ignore a poster or you can put on your big boy pants and realise this isn't your personal forum and people have different interests.

Been playing Connect the Words for the past few weeks. It's quite addictive:

or

I like to pretend I'm on Only Connect so I get to perv at Victoria Coren Mitchell's impressive rack in real time :D

hmm, gtot absolutely nowhere first try...but just to confirm!...

when it says 'one away' does that mean one try has just went away/gone or is it you were one away from getting 4 in the group??

:p

I've got a love hate relationship with Connections. Usually find it the most enjoyable of the dailies I do, but it can be frustrating when its heavily americanised, or the categories are garbage.

It gets a lot easier once you're used to the type of categories they use. Todays was relatively straight forward once the coffee kicked in.

One away from guessing the group.

Would be good to have ignore on entire forum sections too.
What, you mean turn them off like this?

Nope, that just collapses the UI.
I mean ignore them:
- at the forum section level, e.g. "Motors" not "Life"
- so that they don't show up on "New Posts"
I have achieved it for MM and SC but it required asking to be banned, there are other categories I'd rather not see on New Posts, having the option to hide the categories would avoid having to hide a lot of individual threads.

I actually agree with you and I've asked if we can get the option to ignore specific threads.

I asked this back in January when half the front page of GD was covered in puzzles, my post was simply deleted. I disliked these threads before disliking them was cool, jussayin'

Anyway, I do occasionally find myself doing them when bored so wouldn't want them to disappear entirely, shirley a new forum is better, or to simply group them in to one puzzle megathread?
