Ive just got an Elite (thanks mum and dad) :D and i need to connect it to my monitor, one of those LG's with the built in tuner that i dont use.

Currently im using

hdmi / dv from pc
scart from freeview box
which leaves coax inputs, about 6 of them and one of those ancient vga inputs.

now i understand ideally i need to use hdmi / dvi for the xbox for best picture ?

sound wise i just need an optical lead to connect xbox 360 elite - DAC - hifi and sub amps.

so do i use vga or hdmi or coax inputs, which is best ?

obviously if hdmi im gonna have to keep swapping them over.

the screens native res is 1680x1050...

thanks

Put your PC onto the VGA port of the monitor and use the HDMI for your 360.

I am assuming your monitor's only HDMI slot is in use by a HDMI/DVI adaptor from your PC (which I can't see the point in). The PC on VGA will offer you the same resolutions.

Ok..... how about a list of your monitors specs? (Are you sure for instance that the 6 composite ports may not be component, which you could plug your 360 into for instance, without moving other stuff around?).

hi yes they are components, i can plug them in here but been told ill get much worse quality ?

Ive also seen hdmi switches for £7 which could be a solution ?
