im sure this has been posted before

yup these results have been copied and pasted countless times, hope the guys test results are reliable cuz its causing quite a stir.
Still cant get over how much of an improvement it makes in modern games at “realistic” quality levels. Would like to see more independent test from other people though.

Pretty good results there for Oblivion. However, I wonder what the difference will be in the towns and outside parts of the game? Those figures were only taken from the starting dungeon, till the king leaves you.

Yup, Intel have been dropping hints for months that supply shouldn't be a problem. Remember B0 (production) steppings have been rolling out of the fabs for a good couple months now. They must have stock piles of the things... enough to drive any OCer insane :p

Yea, I have no doubt that Intel have a shed load of these to go around.

However, this a HUGE upragde, just like the 7800 GTX 512MB were over anything else out there. nVidia could'nt make the 7800 GTX 512MB's fast enough.

Basically, everyone will want one of these. Thats for the custom market. Conroe is gonig to change a lot of minds of AMD fan boys and change them to the darkside. Intel are going to be back on top for sure for the time being.

The normal consumer market is a different story. I can see a lot of Conroe systems being built for christmas by Dell etc etc.

I just hope that Intel just make enough for the custom overclocking market instead of making the normal consumer market thier priority.

Time will tell. I hope I just get some soon then I would be happy.

Me too, but the money they would make off Dell will surely be larger than the number of custom buyers no matter how many of us there are.

Indeed.

Intels first priority will be to satisfy Dell.

Hi there

The future is looking very bright for Intel and possibly ATI too.

OcUK already has the DFI 975X Conroe uber overclocking motherboard en-route. We already set all our allocation with Intel to make sure good stocks arrive.

Are you sure you'll get enough, like Bennah said, everyone will want one. That doesn't mean you can charge more though!

Prices will be determined by supply and demand. If demand is 1000 and we can only get 100 they most certainly will not be given away.

However is supply is 10,000 and demand is only 1000 the our prices will be the best.

Any company that wishes to survive will buy and sell intelligently.

We will be getting very good allocation as Intel know we more sell more AMD X2 and FX series than any other Etailor in the UK.

Not sure about the DFI Conroe board. Not really seen anything done with it. Looking forward to the Asus boards though.

Any signs of them coming in soon? Pre-order? Out of stock atm.

When we likely to see the Conroe's to hit the OcUK store Gibbo? Going to have the whole range?

Thanks for the info Gibbo. Glad you take notice of these kind of threads and help us out when ever you can.

DFIs board looks crap, sorry to be blunt. DFI haven't exactly got a stellar reputation for producing amazing Intel-based boards, their AMD ones on the other hand are top notch...

Asus P5W DH looks pretty awesome, if a little over-specced (if thats possible).

Abits offerings have possibly the worst board layout I've ever seen (IDE connector next to PCI slot, random SATA ports all over the place), etc.

Intels "BadAxe" board is as solid as a rock but require some patience to overclock them effectively. I'd say that this board is the best for people who don't want to mess about.

Re: Abit, aye they lost the plot post NF2 and seem unlikely to come up with anything decent :( shame really.

I can't wait to see the Asus boards a few months down the line :) hopefully then I'll have some money saved up

funny that this conroe has bigger jump in fps than you would get buying a new gpu :)

Conroe is pushing the bottlenecking back, not getting rid of it completely but allowing a decent gfx card to be used to it's limits.
