Hi im new to overclocking and wonder if someone could give me advice pls.

Im currently at 6600 @ 2.7, ddr @ 4:5 750mhz

I know the conroes are amazing for overclocking so I would like to get to 333 fsb 2997mhz but keep my ram at 750 or 800mhz dont want to push it too much not sure how good the patriot extreme ll memory is.

Volts @ cpu stock atm and ddr2 @ 1.88

Help please

also my mb is the abit aw9d max what multiplyer should I use? etc

temps @ 2.7 are 27c to orthos full blend load 41

Well 375x8 will give you 3Ghz and have your RAM at 750Mhz if you set it to 1:1.

You may need to give your cpu 1.4v and your RAM 2.1v.

So I can run the conroe a lot further? I was thinking of upping from 2.7 to 3.0ghz in 1 go should I? or do it slowly increasing 10 mhz at a time?

If your RAM can handle 750 then go straight for 375x8 cos all the e6600's will do 3Ghz easily.

You might even want to try 375x9 if your cooling is anyway near half-decent.

Ok im at 2997mhz on my conroe 6600 and mem down to 667 1:1 @ 333fsb gonna run orthos, but just ran 3dmark06 I got 8777 default is it worth running my cpu at that speed 24/7 for the sake of a few extra fps etc? is it gonna be safe?

It certainly is. Test 375x8 with the RAM at 1:1 to see if it makes any difference.

But if you're prepared to run your RAM at less than 750Mhz then start at 350x9 (3.15Ghz) and raise it a little at a time. You'll maybe get to near 3.4Ghz before your RAM starts crapping out.

My E6600 is running at 450x8. You can choose from 6,7,8, or 9.

I'm not sure all of them can do that - I picked up 2 within the last month or so from different suppliers/different batches and both of them only had 6 and 9 available.

Ok im at conroe 6600 @ 2997 and the ram at 667 ran orthos blend for 8 hours with no errors , max temps 44c at full load after 7 hours , currently at 21c on air!! :) is this gonna be o.k for 24/7 use?

Ok just ran flight sim x , full load in game at nearly max settings getting 39c on cpu I notice it only uses 1 core! :)

My fps range from 30-55 fps at very high is this ok?
