HI there

Nope you want the DFI one which is now orderable! ;)

Yeah just noticed this on the front page. Looks very nice. This could be Conroes best buddy. Wonder why the pci is only 8x with crossfire would have thought it would be 16x. Dont suppose it makes a big difference though

I can't see myself running crossfire so the x8 x 16 doesn't really matter for me.

Compared to the Abit, Asus offerings etc how does this board shape up?

The DFI mobo is an amazing one, allows up to a 600FSB, thats a lot of head room for the real overclockers out there

Oh and if you get an ES chip (ahem) then you can dump your multi to 6, fsb to 600 and cruse at 3.6GHZ and be silly fast

DFI Infinity 975X (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard (MB-020-DF)
ATI Crossfire is becoming more and more popular in the market with every passing day. Unfortunately Intel users have been restricted to using nVidia SLI solutions. But now with the Infinity 975X users can finally build a system that combines the extreme GPU processing power offered by ATI crossfire graphics cards with Intel’s long awaited Conroe CPUs. Since DFI is always looking to the future they have incorporated next generation support for Intel Conroe CPUs. By doing this users gain the piece of mind that future upgrades of their Infinity 975X are possible. In addition to the standard I/O ports found on most motherboards the Infinity 975X also offers both optical and coaxial SPDIF out and also an eSATA connection providing users with even more flexibility. As always, DFI has taken advantage of the latest chipsets in the market and incorporating them with groundbreaking exclusive DFI overclocking technology. Because of this the Infinity series delivers rock-solid stability and power that every overclocker’s values.

- Support all Intel Socket 775 CPU's including latest Conroe Processors
- Intel 975X + ICH7R Chipsets
- 1066FSB/800FSB Support with great overclocking ability
- 6-Phase Digital Power Management
- 8GB Maximum memory supporting latest DDR2 speeds
- 2 x 16x PCI-Express for Crossfire Support (Operates at x8 in Crossfire Mode)
- 8 Channel Onboard Audio

Price: £129.95 (£152.69 Including VAT at 17.5%)

Is that just a basic list of the features this board has ??

I was hoping it would have 2 x Sata 2 x Sata II etc :)

It is a shame that it only has the four intel sata plus one JMB sata. The Asus equivalent has a total of eight sata. I use the four intel ones currently for RAID 5 storage and then have two raptors in RAID0 for the operating system. It is a real pain when they put a esata connector that can't be disabled in favour of an internal sata, end up having to use a PCI card to connect the raptors. This board does not seem great value, it is just the first 975x with Conroe support, well apart from the elusive badaxe. I will wait for one of the higher spec boards I think.

1 to 2 weeks is whats being said here and there

Intel Bax AXe will run ether or but you need drivers etc to do it. Hacked drivers are silly easy to get

when are the chips coming in? i would have thought that they would have put the chips and boards in at the same time or atleast close to each other  not really a lot of point ordering one if the cpu's aren't going to be here for another month would rather just save the pennies and do one big spending spree when it all comes available!
