my conroe build (£1200-1300ish)

Hay guys, been milling around the past the month or so reading reviews and what not to build me a new pc, heres what ive got so far. I'd appreciate any comment on whether or not everything looks ok.

CPU: Intel Core 2 DUO E6600 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - Retail

MOBO: Intel DP965LT 965 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

VIDEO: HIS Excalibur ATI Radeon X1900 XT ICEQ 3 SILENT Heatpipe 512MB GDDR3 AVIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail

RAM: Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2-6400C5 TwinX (2x1GB)

HD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB ST3250620AS SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM

DVD: Liteon SHM-165P6S-02C 16x DVD±RW/RAM (Beige/Black/Silver) - Retail

CASE: Thermaltake VA8000SWA Armour Aluminium Super Tower - Silver

PSU: Antec TruePower 2.0 550W PSU

MONITOR: Viewsonic VX922 19" LCD Monitor - Black/Silver

Two things im not entirly sure on tho so any suggestions would be great for the mobo firstly, and secondly the case, not sure whether to get the armor or the lan li v1000. i have the room for the armor thats not a problem but i cant decide between the two. Any other suggestions would be appreciated also :)

cheers
Si

V1000+ is a much better case than the armor. But, I think the Akasa Eclipse is a better case to suit you. Go for the bundle with the window.

I cant comment on the Mobo as I have no idea of whats hot and whats not!

Although the monitor you chose is nice, would you consider upgrading to a 20inch Widescreen?

The Dell 2007FPW is going for £285 (Includes delivery and Vat) if you look around, which is a great great price.

Check out the offical site (Dell.com) for more info.

i see! , how come that case would be better? is there something i need in it?

any suggestions on the mobo? :)

cheers
si.

I wouldn't get that mobo if you want todo a lot of overclocking.

If you want todo a lot of overclocking go for the Intel Extreme D975bx-304 975X (Or commonly known as "Bad axe")

im not really fussed about overclocking it kind of worries me :S so i keep everything stock most of the time. whats a good board for stock settings and mabe a small bit of overclocking? does everything else look allright tho? wouldnt want to get it all and find some pieces arn't compatible :|

Keep the mobo if your only going todo a bit of OCing. And because you are you might be better off getting the G.Skill 2GB DDR2 LA PC2-5300 kit.

And instead of that PSU I'd go for:
Tagan TG530-U15 530W ATX2.01 Easycon SLi Compliant Modular Silent PSU
or
Seasonic S12 500W Silent ATX2.0 Power Supply.

Don't know about the case, ask Yewen for advice on that.

Maybe a different DVD-RW don't know.

Other than that your system looks very nice imo.

if your not busy could you explain why you'd choose them over my current ones? just a few pro's and cons and what not, as im a bit clueless :(

thanks for the advice so far tis good having some feedback :)

cheers,
si
