hello all

i got the new conre e6600, can some one please recommend me the quietest cooler and it cool the cpu well?

do you also i should include arctic silver 5 in there as well?

i dont plan to overclock and this was mentioned to me as well,

Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro - P4 up to 4.4GHz - S775 Dual Core Ready

any opionions and feedback would be great

thanks

not plaaing too, also i just got mentioned the scythe and vaporchill, a bit expensive f u ask me.

have u also got the asus p5b, any issues with ** floppy drive or ati card ig you got one?

The scythe is supposed to be a very nice cooler, possibly able to do without a fan?

Anyway, I decided against buying it as it's so huge and heavy that I got worried it might end up wrenching off my motherboard :p

Whats best depends on if you're going to overclock or not, and how much you want to spend.

It would be a waste not to overclock that, so what you probably want is a good air cooler.

Scythe Ninja is a good one and comes with a fairly quiet fan, although by the sounds of it you have a recent ati card which have very noisy coolers so getting a quiet cpu fan would be pointless.

Also take a look at the Scythe Mine for a lower cost quiet cooler, and as you said the Freezer 7 pro for an even cheaper alternative. The Thermalright Ultra 120 is better than the Ninja, as is the Tuniq tower if you can find either in the uk.

cheers all for the feedback, u reckon i should use the arctic sliver 5 instead of the mx-1 u get with the cooler now days?

He has already said he is NOT planning to overclock. So the Arctic would be fine and cheaper.
Sorry didn't spot that. What a waste... :(

Use the stock paste, temps aren't really an issue if you're not overclocking it and it should always be cool enough with that cooler.

I think the mx-1 is pretty good anyway, i always use that rather than arctic silver when i'm fitting a gpu cooler.

thanks

i know i get some on the arctic cooler but i got some as5 here which i haveny used yet.

i also have the artic silver and purifier and i,m worried that some may go underneathe cou when i take it out to clean it, i,m not sure if that stuffs harms the cpu pcb.

take the cpu out of the motherboard and clean it outside your pc, simple
