Conroe, Micro Atx Board?

ASRock 775 TWINS HDTV R2.0

Perfect for your requirements I'd say. It's available now from OcUK competitors.

Just make sure you get the R2.0. It's got CONROE in gold or white lettering on the board itself. The ones with the gold lettering are the early ones, white ones are the latest. As far as I know there is no difference between the two other than cosmetic.

And (please take this as the constructive comment it's meant to be) this question has been asked at least twice before and searching the threads is very easy.

Tried searching, googling couldnt find shiznit, obviously putting the wrong key words in, it is quite annoying when this is suggested to forum veteran(not this one but others), like you said not personal just making a point :)

On subject, whats the performance like never been a big fan of asrock for build stability and most importantly performance and i suspect thiers already been an mass of people asking ocuk to stock it no doubt :)

Had a look, Think its a rubbish board, any others out thier with a decent chipset and features. Id sooner have an over the top board for what i need rather than something that will "do" and have to oc the hell out of it to get performance when tech moves on.

It does SuperPi 32M places in 17:28. That's 1M places in 18 seconds. How about yours?

And please - "rubbish"? No, it's not, it's low cost.

And you specifically asked for an HTPC project. The video card is designed for HTPC work. It's nbot a performance board as HTPC's are surely meant to be quiet, not necessarily overclocked.

Cor, thats good, makes you wonder what a decent board will do lol ;)

You trying to say coz its htpc its gotta be a compromise on performance, onboard gfx not really an issue coz im gonna want to play games on it so a gfx card will be going in (with a silent cooling solution).

Some people get way to excited, i didnt really mean its rubbish or even low cost, i hate this asrock obssesion with, putting 2 types of say memory, i want a board thats designed to work with ddr2, not compromise to work with ddr and ddr2, and can only be a compromise.

Abit AB9 Pro is about 90 seconds faster for 32M Places and 2-3 seconds faster for 1M places. SuperPi is a memory bound benchmark so the lach of dual channel RAM really hurts the ASRock. For games I don't think you'd notice.
