Conroe now available from OcUK!

I think the reason people are pre-ordering conroe's now is because the supplies may be thin after release. There's great demand for these after all.
You reckon? I can't see it myself. I think Intel will have more than enough to go round after the first panic week (caused by etailer logistics rather than supply and demand). I guess we'll see. Conroe isn't like XBox360!

I can see it I think (including myself) most people have been telling people to wait untill Conroe is out and I think that most mags and other people have been doing the same... I can see this happening myself

No I can't either, I was just saying that a lot of people have been pre-ordering the CPU so they get the first batch and supposedly don't have to wait ages for the next one. I'm not bothered about getting it on release day, cause i'm going on holiday so i'll get it as soon as I get back.

seriously impressed with this board so far.
Doubt it will do higher

all on default volts, and almost 3Ghz

So that's a normal E6600 which is 9x266 to make 2.4GHz and your running at 9x330 to make 2.972GHz (+24%). Nice. What memory are you using? I guess that should be doable on plain old PC5300 RAM?

yes the board is not the best clocking board around, does not allow voltage adjustments, so yup i jjust pushed the fsb up. im using some 6400 memory but its only running in single channel as the board only offers single channel.

im using the aquagate coolermaster i picked from fs a few weeks ago, only because i didnt have a 775 sink at hand lol, id say its as good as a freezer pro tbh

upped to 300x9 2700mhz :D

passed s&m so far :D

wonder if it will do 3Ghz on deafult :p
..

HI m8

Any chance you can re-run all those benchmarks in comparison to your Yonah at 3GHz again at the new speed please?

single 7900gtx, 1gb ddr2

Yonah 2600 @ 3Ghz (dual channel mem)

bare in mind im memory bandwidth crippled with this board, for now :)
and memory is at 5,5,5,10.

btw ive never seen 01 top out to 999fps before

broke 20s under 3Ghz :D

the 304s tend to top out around 425-450mhz according to a friend

ah well im going to aim for a nice 400Mhz 3.6Ghz clock :D

anything extra is a bonus :D

edit / tightening the memory to 4,4,4,10 gives 43458k on 3dmark 01

tis quite a difference

Hi there

Truly amazing. So that E6600 is pushing 3GHz in a cheap crappy motherboard at stock voltage air cooled?

I can see these things hitting 4GHz easily in decent boards with good air cooling and H20 setups. :)

I suspect before long we might see some 5GHz freon cooled rigs?

I am glad that Mr Intel is gonna look after us on this one but I think they have realised when it comes to gamers and overclockers they need to look after OcUK if they want to win that audience. So its all looking good and OcUK will be rewarded the most allocation in the UK, plus the fact OcUK is the first and only company to put orders in with Intel and all its distributors first helps a lot too. :)

1.6% improvement, we were told above that memory timings didn't help Core 2 duo much...
