You don't need PC6400 RAM, that's only needed for extreme overclocks. Get some PC5300.Red Arrow said:Hey guys quick question.
I have gone and pre-ordered myself E6600 the other day but need advice on a new mobo and RAM to go with it.
I have seen the Asus P5W DH Deluxe motherboard, also I see in the RAM forum that OCuk is getting in G.Skill F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ soon. Is this a good match for the CPU? I am not really into overclocking, just looking for a good, fast stable system.
Cheers.

The default for an E6600 is 9x266 = 2.4GHz. PC5300 RAM is stock on a 333MHz bus allowing an E6600 overclock to 9x333 = 3GHz (+25%).Red Arrow said:Will this still let me have the CPU running at 2.40GHz, 1066FSB? Sorry been a long time since I have upgraded so I have been out of the 'loop' for a while.![]()

For the pre-order that is.
