Yes.

X2 CPUs are set to have their prices cut by up to 50% to compete with Intel. This is due to happen a day after Conroe is launched (July 24th I think)

Conroe release is officially delayed until 27th July

Looks like I be returning to Intel, unless AMD can bring something out to beat it. I am looking at the 2.93GHZ version, but I will not overclock it.

But if I did overclock it, whats the highest with a heatsink someone has got a 2.93GHZ one too?

hehe i guess i will probably only pay about £80 extra for that cpu though if i sell my X2 4400+ Dualcore AMD Cpu. so i might shoot for the e6700 core2duo

Looks expensive to me too... but hey, that's the cost of being an early adopter. Perfectly reasonably to charge what the market will bear... They'll be commonplace and under £200inc by mid Sept.

Superb should be a nice load of 2nd hand deals on some nice AMD x2 chips when the Intel finally arrives, lots of rich pickings for us staying with 939 for a while yet I think

hehe think ill wait even though ive got a case hd and all the accesories..
would hate to be one of the unluckyones that possibly get a bust chip and then have to wait for another batch of processors ...im a pessimist ;-)
