f it's parents or wife to justify, you can always take out a part and overheat/static/electricute it then put it back and say, opps, that part just fried - stupid electric company and their surges.

I can't find any. Probab;y 1 week before Conroe is released, will there be MoBo for it. (I think the there's one Intel Mobo that currently is "Conroe Ready" - not big on the OC front tho).

I'm hoping within a month from release, better OC mobos will be out...

There is a Conroe mobo available in the UK right now. Can't say where though obviously. ;)

I've already got come cash earmarked for this upgrade, can't wait.

Not really... I did it before with the Northwood-A and it paid off.

K8L isn't till Q2'07 and it isn't a desktop part so you may as well forget about it. K10 is still on the drawing board and isn't on AMD's roadmap so that 12 month guesstimate is rather optimistic.

i don't know how i'm going to resist getting one tbh. I could sell my AMD stuff, including my watercooling stuff and just go back to quiet air with a conroe, and i probably wouldn't loose out much financially....hmmmn...

I wouldnt bother with the cost of an Extreme Edition looking at how these babies clock.

Im deffo gonna wait till Conroe comes out and try my 1st Intel chip.

Results so far look superb, and tbh it's irrelevant what AMD may bring out fact is that these chips will lead the way for a while.

Remember we had this when AMD were the underdogs in the performance stakes a few years ago, all the blah,blah,blah about the chips Intel were bringing out to beat the new AMD chips, never happened though did it.
 
id rather get the extreme though sounds pimperish :D yeah i seen the results but i think the extremes what im having i know its a lot more cash but end of the day ill have a high stock clock to oc from :p , yeah i remember that the p4 was ment to do it but never did i think its funny my g/fs p4 1.8 gets owned by a thunderbird 1200 :eek: lol

True, only use for the XE I can see is for sub zero, as they seem to be topping out the fsb before the chip. Otherwise, for air or water stick to the regular.

Having just splashed out on a 950, i can confidently say that the missus will never let me buy a conroe on 23rd of July.... I will wait until the 24th to appease her.
